Milk mustache… or perhaps a milk beard? ;)
Someone is doing better today!
We are happy that the tiny Jersey heifer is strong enough to get her own milk from her mom today.
If you look closely, you should see her milk mustache, or rather a milk beard? Regardless, we are very relieved that she is strong enough today to feed herself some of her mother’s milk. Thanks, McKenna family, for helping us locate a lamb bottle to feed her with yesterday. “Lucky” didn’t have enough strength to nurse from her mother effectively and her mouth was just too small for our regular calf pails. We will keep a watchful eye on her to make sure she continues to grow stronger. This little calf needs some extra TLC and she is sure to get it.
You can see from this picture that Lucky has at least two mothers doting on her, and she needs them both!
