We’ve had a difficult time haying recently due to frequent showers but yesterday we did manage to get in 56 round bales of haylage. We would like to be putting in some dry hay but that’s just not possible with the weather we’ve been having. Let’s hope that changes soon! More photos of the day available here … means more haying on the Chase Farm! It looks like we will have good weather Monday-Wednesday this week, so we’re cutting today in hopes of getting some square bales. We’ll be calling the crew to let them know we should be haying tomorrow afternoon, as soon as the hay is dry enough to bale. [...] Star’s daughter, Wonder, calved on July 17. We were happy to welcome another Red and White Holstein to our herd! Mom and calf are doing very well.
